Cougar Soccer Camp

July 23 - July 27
entering 2nd – 8th Grade

 
 

The Chatham Cougar Soccer Camp philosophy and goals are to help youth soccer players learn the game of soccer in a fun-filled environment. Our camp is designed to teach the fundamentals and skills of the game of soccer while promoting teamwork, leadership and good sportsmanship. Many of our sessions will involve 1 player -1 ball to maximize touches and keep children engaged. Each day will consist of new technical training followed by fun games where your child can practice their new found skills! We welcome all levels of skill and campers will be divided into groups based on age and ability.

Camper outcomes:

  • Technical Skill Development
  • Tactical Knowledge of the game
  • Personal Development: teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence

What equipment is needed for camp?

  • Soccer Ball
  • Shin guards
  • Water bottle
  • Cleats
  • Indoor Soccer Shoes (and/or sneakers)
  • Swim suit and towel

Example DAY Schedule

SOCCER SKILL:

  • Dribbling/Ball control
  • Running with the ball
  • Turns

LIFE SKILL:

  • RESPECT (coaches, other campers, the game, the rules, your surroundings)

9:00am: Intro/Rules/Attendance
9:30am: Foot skills warm-up (on the field); Technical training (skill focus of the day)
11:00am: Pool (EPL & MLS); Games (Bundesliga) on the field
11:50am: Pool (Bundesliga); Games (EPL & MLS) on the field
12:40pm: Lunch
1:25pm: Skills review, skills games (on the field)
2:15pm: Small-sided games (street soccer tournament) in the gym
3:00pm: PACK-UP

Chatham Women's Soccer ID Camp

entering 9th -12th grade

    The Chatham University Women’s Soccer Summer ID Camp is a high-level training program. It is open for 9th to 12th-grade female soccer players. This training program is for the players to compete and showcase their skills in front of the Chatham University women’s soccer coaching staff. The camp will include, speed & agility training, soccer skill development and tactical aspects of the game.  It is ideal for those who are planning to play at the collegiate level.

    Camper outcomes:

    • Tactical Knowledge of the game
    • Personal Development: teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence

    9:30am: Arrive at Varsity Field, Staff Introduction, and Program Information
    10:00am: Warm-up, Mobility & Agility, Technical Training/Goalkeeper Training (on field)
    11:45am: Q&A with Gabby (Asst. Director of Admissions), Chatham Players & Cougar Alumni @ the Carriage House (parents are welcome to attend Q&A)
    12:30pm: Lunch @ the Carriage House
    1:15pm: Goalkeeper warm-up, possession & small-sided games (on field)
    2:45pm: Camp wrap-up at the field
    3:00pm: Campus tour (for first time visitors; optional for returning visits)
